SNOW

- To create this comic I first chose a comic strip that I thought was a good storyline, and that I could see being used in a soap.
- The comic strip didn't have any actual dialogue which was spoken, it was all based around his internal monlogue that needed to be spoken by a narrated. I decided that this was perhaps a little simplistic in terms of dialogue and so I decided to add some speech that complimented the clip for example we added the words "excuse" and "oh". Although the words weren't every long they made the emotion of the clip more prominant as soaps intend to make their storylines as emotional and dramatic as possible.
- When filming the strip I had to use different camera shots for many of the different scenes for example one shot was a panning shot across a long section of the strip whereas another shot was a close up of the man's face. I learnt how to use the zoom and angle of the camera to frame the shot correctly as otherwise there would have been a lot of background images from the computer screen in the shot which we would have to have edited out as well as to ensure the picture came out clearly on the camera. I paused and adjusted the camera angle and zoom between each shot to make the the transition between each shot as smooth as possible. If I had filmed the strip on a one continuous camera shot it would have been more difficult and time consuming to edit during post production.
- I recorded the narrative monologue and speech whilst filming each of the seperate shots so theywere timed perfectly with the shot.
- When I got to the stage were I coould upload the comic strip onto 'adobe premiere elements' I uploaded the sperate shots clip by clip. This was a good method of editing the strip as I could simply upload the clips chronalogically with the sound already recorded and included in each of the clips. I arranged the clips in the correct order and made sure that there weren't any gaps in the sound or anything that needed to be editited out in terms of the length of the clips or the picture quality of the clips. Finally I ran the clips together a few times to ensure it all ran together smoothly.

Soaps - Soap Scoop - 'Emmerdale' Trailer Beyond the Grave - Digital Spy

EastEnders Trailer BBC Christmas 2009

The trailer begins with a long, low angle shot of the 'Queen Victoria' pub with non  diagetic Christmas music playing over the shot, it creates tension as it is due to the nature of the shot the audience know something bad is bound to happen.
The camera then cuts to a medium close up of two people having an intense conversation. The non diagetic music is still being played in the background which maintains the tension.
The camera cuts again to another shot of the pub and then quickly cuts again to a framing shot of a woman who is clearly about to walk into the pub. The non diagetic music is continuing to be played in the background. The woman turns around quickly and gasps which further builds the tension.
At this point the camera cuts to a woman wallking into a shot from in the shadows. As the shot is at night and the music is still creating tension you know she is involved in something dramatic.
The camera then cuts between framing shots of four seperate characters. The music continues to play and the audience is lead to assume they are somehow involved.
The camera then cuts to a medium close up of a man speaking to a woman, the woman says "Phil, what are you going to do?" and he replies "I'm going to kill him.". This builds the tension further.
The camera cuts again with the music continuing to play to a shot wich upwards to a man's face as he pours a drink. A narrative voice says "Has Archie decieved his last? Eastenders, Christmas day at eight on BBC one." over the shot. The audience is left with a cliffhanger that perhaps implies that soemthing is going to happen to this character and the six other characters in the trailer may be directly involved. The music stops playing as the clips finishes and the Eastenders theme begins.
